Preparation & Notes

20 ml per venipuncture. 8-10 ml inoculated into Bactec aerobic resin and standard anaerobic bottle using aseptic techniques. Note: Site of specimen draw is required (ex.Left arm, A-line, etc.) Aerobic and anaerobic culture of blood, acceptable for yeast, fungus, and Acid Fast Bacilli. Send to the laboratory immediately, do not refrigerate. Includes Bone Marrow cultures
