Test Information

Name: Copeptin proAVP (s) (Serum (s), frozen)

Code: N5161-BI

Sample Type: Serum

Turnaround Time (TAT): 8 days

Preparation & Notes

"Specimens: 500 µl Serum (s), frozen Preanalytics/Notes: Alternative material 0.5 ml of EDTA plasma. In connection with the determination of CT-proAVP, the osmolality and serum sodium should also be determined in any case. The copeptin levels in the case of the polyuria-polydipsia syndrome enable a differentiation between diabetes insipidus centralis and diabetes insipidus renalis if the blood samples are taken in the morning in fasted state after 8 hours of fluid deprivation. A further blood sample may be necessary after 16 hours of fluid deprivation with CT-proAVP and sodium determination for the differentiation between diabetes insipidus centralis partialis and primary polydipsia. Method: TRACE assay" "Specimens: 500 µl Serum (s), frozen Preanalytics/Notes: Alternative material 0.5 ml of EDTA plasma.
