المدة المتوقعة (TAT): 15 يوم
التحضيرات والملاحظات
"1. TISSUE BIOPSIES: The tissue should be placed into 1.6% glutaraldehyde immediately after removal. The overall thickness of the tissue slice should be less than 1mm. Needle biopsies and trucut biopsies may be fixed without further handling. 2. BONE MARROW ASPIRATE: At collection the aspirate is placed into a paraffin lined Coulter vial that is sprinkled with EDTA. The aspirate is then placed into 1.6% glutaraldehyde as quickly as possible and delivered to the EM lab. 3. TREPHINE BONE MARROW BIOPSY: These are collected the same as tissue biopsies. 4. PERIPHERAL BLOOD: Peripheral blood for EM studies of RBCs, WBCs, and platelets should be drawn in a green top (heparinized) vacutainer tube. The specimen is then delivered to the EM lab, or an EM lab technologist is notified for direction. If a buffy coat is to be submitted, the isolation procedure is expedited in Hematology and the specimen immediately fixed in buffered 1.6% glutaraldehyde. 5. FLUIDS: Pleural fluid is delivered immediately to the Cytology Laboratory. The cytotechnologist will centrifuge the fluid at 1500 rpm for 5 min. and discard the supernatant. The specimen is then resuspended in buffered 2.5% glutaraldehyde and stored in the refrigerator in the Histology laboratory. CSF is processed by Hematology. 6. FINE NEEDLE ASPIRATION BIOPSIES: After the FNA has been taken, fixative (buffered 1.6% glutaraldehyde) may be drawn into the syringe directly. The needle is removed and the contents of the syringe are emptied into a fixative vial."
