Random and timed samples are suitable. 2.0 ml is the minimum volume required. FROZEN samples are NOT acceptable. The pH of samples should be between 7 to 9. If pH is less than 7, adjust by the addition of 1N NaOH. It should be delivered immediately to the lab as the sample is to be treated with a stabilizer right away.
